Our heroine is caught in an outlandish plot, and seriously, when the whole plot is revealed, it becomes even more outlandish. She apparently had a daughter with him, so oh dear, what exactly is going on here? It turns out that, five years ago, she is married to pharmaceutical mogul Ryan Harrison.

And then, the plane her husband is on goes ka-boom, and the next thing Kate knows, she’s discovering letters and notes in her husband’s desk (he’s, conveniently, the kind of person that needs to keep everything recorded down) that suggest very strongly that her life is not what it seems to be. Perhaps this is because her husband and she are not close, apparently having drifted apart even before her accident. She has a son and a husband, but things don’t seem to fit together much. Kate Alexander can’t remember anything that happened before she woke up from her coma a year ago. And yet, very little here makes sense unless this story takes place in an alternate universe. If I judge this book by how much the elements here resemble everyone’s favorite tried and true tropes, it makes the grade very easily. Mystery, intrigue, suspense, and romance fill every page of this book and will have you unable to put it down.Wait for Me is an uncomfortable hybrid of a Harlequin Presents and a more over the top plot arc of One Life to Live. Not only is the story interesting and compelling, but the characters are alive and the romance is hot. Rarely does a book grip me from the very beginning and keep pulling me back in until the last page is read. While trying to reconnect, Kate plunges into her past and finds a horrible conspiracy that could just about claim her life – both new and old. The daughter, the brother, the parents, the job, they all quickly become overwhelming. What she finds is a family that thought she had died five years earlier.įeeling an inexplicable attraction to the man claiming to be her husband and soul mate, Kate struggles to come to terms with the life everybody says was hers. Trying to uncover the secrets to her past and recover her memories, Kate moves to San Francisco to get answers. She also finds medical records, indicating her husband had been lying to her about her entire life. In amongst his belongings she finds a photograph of a little girl, one that has her exact same eyes. Living with amnesia, he was her lifeline to reality.
